IMPORTANT: The EOS Camera Movie Record (EOS-MovRec) software hosted on this archive is legacy open-source technology. By downloading and using the resources on this site, you acknowledge that you are interacting with hardware-intensive software that interacts directly with your camera’s firmware and your computer’s OS kernel.
This document governs your use of the eoscameramovierecord.com archive. Our mission is preservation, but digital safety remains your responsibility.
We provide historical drivers and community-made patches as-is, without warranties of any kind regarding performance or hardware safety.
Hardware Use & Risk
The EOS-MovRec project utilizes the Canon EDSDK (EOS Digital Software Development Kit) to bypass standard mirror mechanisms. Using this software involves continuous Live View sensor activation which generates heat.
- Sensor Fatigue: We are not responsible for sensor degradation, “dead pixels,” or thermal damage resulting from extended video recording sessions.
- Shutter/Mirror Wear: Legacy cameras (Canon 450D, 1000D, 40D) are prone to mechanical failure. Using third-party software to lock the mirror up is done entirely at your own discretion.
- Windows 11 Kernel Errors: While we provide fixes for 2026 Windows 11 builds, we do not guarantee that driver overrides will not cause system instability or BSOD (Blue Screen of Death).
